Tillman Cabernet Sauvignon Family Reserve
Serious wine afficiandos know about most of the "cult" wines of California, especially those of the Napa Valley. They know what these wines taste like, they know how to pair them with food, they know of the high ratings they garner, and they are well aware of the cost of these types of wines.
The Tillman Family Reserve Cab. will meet most all of the criteria of the afore mentioned cult wines. From the Tulocay area just east of the City of Napa, a region known for big, boldly structured Cabernets, this wine has a lot going on. The ripe fruit and tannins are prevalent. It was aged in 100% French oak for a period of 26 months, adding to the complexity of flavors. Only 400 cases were made. It takes this wine some time to open up and flower, and once the bottle is opened, it is best to leave it for a while. It's worth the wait, though, for what you'll get in return is simply amazing. For this type of wine, the price would normally be amazing, too. In this case, it's amazingly low.
